Another interesting fact is that the "Wittower Fähre" was the only narrow-gauge railway ferry link in Middle Europe. The two ferries "Wittow" and "Bergen" (this ferry was build in 1911 with the name "Jasper von Maltzahn" and scrapped in 1997) normally trajectet only goods waggons and sometimes steam engines, passengers usually had to change the train at the other side.
